Inspiring stories from supporters
“My daughter and I enjoyed visiting the Apple Box. It was a new experience for us but they made it more relaxing, she listened and encouraged us we were able to pour out our hearts without being judged. I admire the way our worker was so calm yet firm (professional) throughout the sessions she wasn’t judgemental she supported us. We opened up and she saw how vulnerable we were, she took us back to the place we are at now more respectful, loving, caring to each other. It was not easy but with her help I am now having a better relationship with my daughter. We are not perfect and we still have our bad days but by communicating and using techniques we were taught it made it easier. I would definitely recommend Apple box to anyone out there that needs professional help to try it has helped us”
“Throughout my time at this establishment I have managed to improve much more than I could have done on my own. I have learnt that it is possible to have a proper relationship with my parents. It has taught me how to manage the anger I feel and my emotions. I have improved in many ways that I could only wish for. This has shown me that maybe I’m not such a bad person and that I can change and I have. Thank You”
“I feel that its a good thing that you are in the community as the community really needs it. It’s important that Black people have a place that they can go and speak to people like themselves and also feel safe. The service is very down to earth and that’s important”
“I don’t know what I would have done without the service, it was such a support for me at such a difficult time. I feel I have been able to move since then and it all feels like a distant memory. I really appreciated the excellent service”
“Coming to ABC has brought me and my mum so much closer together I can now look forward to enjoying high school”
